Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy Kite Project

Pauline Taylor of Infinite Arts worked at Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy in spring 2014 as part of a Y7, Y8, and Y9 activity week.

“Thank you again for providing such a brilliant day for our students - they loved it! Here’s what they had to say:”

'I thought making a kite was easy, just a bit of string and paper - I was very shocked at how much you need to think about to make a really good one! I had a brilliant day and learned loads.' Megan Y7

'All of the kites that Pauline showed us were amazing - I worked really hard on my design and it flew for ages!' Tyler Y7

'I LOVE kites, thank you!' Joel Y9

'I really enjoyed finding out about how to make a proper kite. I learned so much during the day and even though my kite failed (at first) I fixed it and it flew for ages.' Ben Y8

Staff feedback from Jo Fleet, Emma Gilhespy,Sarah Leighton & David Elliott

'Thank you so much Pauline, the day was amazing - informative, interesting and entertaining! The students had a great day and created some kites that they could be really proud of. We received great feedback not only from the students who took part, but also from the other students who saw the kites. Thank you again and we look forward to hopefully working with you in the future.'
